The main goal of Youngstown Choice Homes is to increase the home ownership percentage and the overall quality of life In Youngstown. The project, located in various parts of the Youngstown area is geared to:

1. The revitalization of these specific neighborhoods through the implementation of a comprehensive neighborhood plan.

2. New development activity of nearly $4 million.

3. Neighborhood beautification by removing unsightly trash on vacant lots.

4. Bring inferior housing stock up to code.

5. Tenants will have an average income below 50 % of the MSA Median Income.

Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority

YMHA is a housing agency that provides affordable housing to residents throughout Mahoning County.

Established in the early 1930's by
an Ohio statute, we were one of
the first Housing Authorities in the United States.

Today, we manage over 1,500 apartments. We work with local public, private and non-profit agencies to provide support services to all of our residents such as job training, economic development, computer training and many programs for our youth and senior residents.
